Rare 1970 Soviet Academic Edition of the First Printed Georgian Grammar

An original 1970 scholarly edition of "ქართული გრამატიკა" (Kartuli Gramatika / Georgian Grammar), published in Tbilisi by Metsniereba Publishing House under the Institute of Linguistics of the Academy of Sciences of the Georgian SSR.

This important academic volume presents the first printed grammar of the Georgian language, originally compiled in the late 18th century by the distinguished Georgian educator, scholar, and rector of the Telavi Seminary Gaioz Rektor (Gaios Tsaishi, 1746–1821).
